VIJAYWADA MISSION:

Vijayawada Mar Thoma Mission is one of the Mission Fields of Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association in the Chennai-Bangalore Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church which is situated in Andhra Pradesh which was initiated in the year 1999 to cater the spiritual needs of the Students communities and migrated Malayali communities spread in and around of Vijayawada. A multireligious and multilinguistic community survives in the local context and the Mission was able to cater to the spiritual needs of the both Malayalam and Telugu community simultaneously. God almighty has used the Mission to bring hundreds of families to the love of Christ and the fellowship of the church. The mission includes both the Malayalam and Telugu speaking community and includes a mission center and church in the Gandhi Colony, Gunadala, which is 7 kilometres away from the Vijayawada Railway Station, which was established in 2002 and a church in the Padavalarevu Devuni Nagarwhich was situated on the top of a hill where 250 steps need to be climbed to reach the church.

Vijayawada Mar Thoma Mission is catering to the nearby villages in and around of Vijayawada namely Gandhiji Colony Gunadala, Padavalarevu Devuni Nagar, Maduranagar, Urmila Nagar, Kesarapalli, Ambedkarnagar, Yelukapadu, Kachikacherla, Ramavarpade, Anjampudi, Gunadala Harijan Colony, Santhinagar, etc. Vijayawada Mar Thoma Mission is taking care of the Spiritual growth of believers through Telugu and Malayalam Worship and Holy Communion Service, Sunday School, V.B.S., Cottage Prayer meeting, Fasting Prayers, Village Visit and Special Prayer meeting in villages, Christmas Carols, Watch Night and New year Service, Lenten Prayer Meetings etc. The mission activities focus on the spiritual nurturing and personal development and social upliftment of the believers. May the Grace of God enable us to overcome the challenges and to contribute our best to the extension of His Kingdom and whole heartedly expresses sincere gratitude to the supporters who join through in prayers, presence and financial assistance.
