ANKOLA MISSION:
The Ankola Christa Mitra Ashram is completing 83 years of serving the Lord. Christa Mitra Ashram Ankola was founded in 1940 by four dedicated leaders. At present, there are 14 members in the Ashram community including 4 families and 5 sisters.
The primary motive of the Ashram is to proclaim the Gospel to the people of Karnataka. All the projects and programs are planned in such a way that Christ is proclaimed as the Lord and Savior. We have a team of 4 evangelists who are engaged in full-time ministry of evangelization. There are about 300 members at Ankola Church and Yellapur Congregation. The worship service is in Kannada language. A number of people happily observed and participated in the Nombunamaskara at church. During Christmas time, our carol singers visited all the church families and friends of the Ashram sharing the Good News. Christmas celebrations are also organized by the I S P and CMA Hospital.
The C M A Hospital: The Ashram Hospital was instrumental in extending the healing ministry of the Lord to the poor and needy in and around Ankola.
The Sevamandir (Destitute home for the Aged):
The Sevamandir is a home for the homeless, aged, and invalid people who do not have any relatives to support them. At present, there are 30 inmates in the Sevamandir. The inmates are strengthened spiritually and physically and are helped to spend their last days in peace and eternal hope. For the past 80 years we have been involved in the education and total development of poor children. The Indian Sponsorship Program (ISP) of the Ashram focuses on bringing the best out of the children in the academic field. This program supports 110 children with the help of 80 Indian Sponsors. By donating a minimum of Rs.1000.00 per year, one can sponsor a child and help with his/her education. The children regularly meet in the Ashram for Sunday Club and special programs.
